CVC Capital Partners, through its holding entity Retail Network sold all of the outstanding shares in the Dutch retail baby and maternity chain Prenatal Moeder en Kind BV to Prenatal SpA, subsidiary of the Italian Artsana Group.

Lindenaar & Co advised CVC Capital Partners / Retail Network in the entire process, ranging from contacting the potential buyers to the actual deal execution, including the composition of an LoI, company valuation, deal negotiations, due diligence preparations, transaction documentation and closing of the transaction.

Prenatal is the largest Dutch chain of specialty mother and baby stores, offering its products through 74 stores. The assortment includes clothing for expectant mothers, babies and toddlers, gift items and articles for pregnancy and thereafter. After a long period of ownership by Vendex, Prenatal was sold to CVC Capital Partners in 2002, as part of the so called “Sixpack” transaction that also included retail chains Hans Anders, Scapino, Siebel, Lucardie, Perry Sport and Kijkshop. The head office of Prenatal is located in Almere. The company has around 800 employees and realized net sales of approximately €80 million in 2005.
